One of the most interesting pieces of this design project was that the bride is originally from Poland and wanted to have both an English invitation and a Polish version. When I’m thinking about typography, especially, it’s easy for me to visualize what I want in English and then translate that to the design, but when the words are in a different language (Polish), it involves looking at the typography – spacing of the words and then if that makes sense with the actual context of those words, that sort of thing.
The wedding took place in the English Countryside, known for bluebells, so the bride wanted to incorporate that element into the invitations, which I loved.
As I mentioned, the bride was born in Poland and has a number of family members still living in Poland, so she wanted to make sure she had an invitation just for them as well, which gave me the opportunity to design from a new perspective, which is always a good thing.
